About the Brand

A company named Gelesis, Inc. manufactures and sells Plenity Weight Loss Pills. It started in 2006, and they have its headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Their parent company is PureTech Health. Gelesis, Inc is a biotechnology company that produces products and technology to help treat obesity.

How Does Plenity Work?

Plenity weight loss supplement primarily contains cellulose and citric acid in capsules, and the user is meant to take them with a lot of water 20 minutes before a meal. In the stomach, the outer part of the capsule dissolves, releasing the ingredients. The particles absorb the water around them and grow much more significantly than they were initially.

This creates individual pieces which are firm. They fill your stomach, so you feel less hungry and consume less during your meal. When the particles reach the large intestine, they break down, and the water releases. It all leaves your body when you go to the bathroom. Ideally, Plenity results in weight loss.

In addition, citric acid can speed up the metabolism, which puts the body into a state of thermogenesis where it burns fat rapidly. This can help you lose weight faster.

A clinical study published in Clinical Diabetes[1] by the American Diabetes Association concluded that Plenity was a safe and effective weight loss method. Another study in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy[2] says it’s a non-systemic approach to weight loss for people with obesity, and a good alternative to current pharmacological solutions.

Plenity Ingredients – Are They Safe and Effective?

When looking at Plenity reviews, it is essential to scrutinize the ingredients within its formula.

– This molecule makes up the walls of plant cells. It contains hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen atoms. It seems like an ideal weight-loss ingredient because it expands inside the stomach, making you feel full.

However, the research is not completely certain about cellulose as a weight loss agent. A study published in Obesity[3] found that it did not affect appetite.

Citric Acid

– This is an organic acid in citrus fruits. It’s often included in nutritional supplements as an additive ingredient.

It’s a potent antioxidant that can help speed up metabolism, leading to fat and weight loss. According to Science Direct[4], research shows that hydroxycitric acid can reduce appetite, and weight, and improve the lipid profile.

Lost over 30 pounds in a few months, love it!
I lost over 30 pounds in a few months and inches off my waist and hips. It took a few weeks until my brain understood the feeling of ‘full' which is not a stuffed turkey feeling but more just a satisfaction. Plenity also helps me with in-between meal cravings. I love this product.

Losing weight with Plenity is too fast
I like Plenity but have irregular bowel movements, mostly at night. I can't eat very much, or I will be sitting on the toilet for a while. I also take other medications: Seroquel, Zoloft, Plenity, and Oxybutynin.

I started July 6, and as of today (July 23), I have lost 10 pounds. I don't know if that is too fast. I have headaches. I have stomach cramps after I eat. I have to be very deliberate about food. I can't eat greasy or heavy foods. I have been sticking to salads and grapefruit.

I am otherwise reasonably healthy besides wanting to lose weight. My family has diabetes problems. The only thing that I have to avoid is milk.

    Plenity Package Lost
I was supposed to receive my Plenity package on 6/17/2022. MAiled via UPS, tracking number is 1Z8249XA0391050466. I have tried multiple times to place a claim with UPS and they have not been at all helpful. I tried to place the claim via customer service and no one ever picked up after being on hold for 45 minutes. I tried to place a claim online and it would not take my information, saying it was invalid. Can you please help me?
  4. Melanie Oliverius

    I don't feel full
Well, I foolishly ordered 3 months worth to get the discount and I fear I wasted $200. I have taken Plenity for 4 days and after guzzling a 16oz water with my 3 large caplets I don't feel any fuller than if I drank a bottle of water. Kicking myself for suckered into the t.v. ad and believing bcuz it was a prescription that it must work.
  5. Ashley

    Full before meals!
I have used Plenty for a short time - however, it is amazing. I take the 3 pills with 16 - 20 oz of water about 30 minutes before my lunch and dinner. It fills me up which has me eating less. This product is great for individuals that tend to over-eat!!!
